Dentures

In brief

Dentures are a prosthesis the patient can remove and refit; national health insurance applies from age 65.

Prosthetic treatment is planned by Dr. Ahn Jin-gyu, a specialist in integrated dentistry, after checking the remaining teeth and the bite. The same dentist stays with you from consultation to the end of treatment.

A prosthesis patients can take out and put in themselves

It supplements the areas without teeth, improving chewing force and aesthetics.
Under the Ministry of Health and Welfare's health insurance policy, people aged 65 and over are eligible for insurance coverage,

so denture treatment can be received at a low cost.

How to care for them

  • Discomfort in the early days of wearing dentures should be adjusted in consultation with the staff.
  • Pronunciation may feel awkward at first, but this is temporary and improves naturally.
  • During the adjustment period (6–9 weeks), please eat mainly soft food.
  • Always take the dentures out and clean them after meals.
  • Use a cleaning product made for dentures, and never disinfect them with hot water.
  • Take care with sticky, hard or tough food, as the dentures may come loose.
  • Always remove the dentures when sleeping to let the gums rest.
  • Regular check-ups are needed for healthy, correct use.
